LAGOS – The fate of over 27,000 students in public secondary and primary schools in Lagos State may be hanging in the balance as their teachers vowed never to return to the classroom until the government pays the enhanced teachers salary,TSS, as previously agreed.
Secretary to Nigeria Union of Teachers (Lagos chapter), Mr Jamiu Idris, said the union upheld the indefinite strike yesterday after its meeting with the government at Alausa over the issue ended in a fiasco.
He said the effect of the strike which started on September 1 will bite harder when the pupils and students resume on September 21 and meet schools locked.
