Telecom device forum holds tomorrow

Regulators, top government functionaries, bankers, major switching companies, telecom operators, device manufacturers and suppliers as well as the general public will tomorrow gather for the much awaited Nigeria Telecom/Device Forum. The forum which is coming at the end of the blessed month of Ramadan is collegial with opportunities for key actors in the industry to meet, discuss, suggest and chart a roadmap for the future of communications industry in Nigeria.

A statement by Reuben Muoka, Head of Public Affairs, Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) and Ken Nwogbo, editor, Nigeria Communications week, organizers of the event said that the end of the holiday presents immense blessings away from the hustle and bustle of Lagos.

Captains of industries will present valid forecasts of developments in the telecom industry and examine the driving forces behind these developments.

According to the organizers, Ernest Ndukwe, executive vice chairman and chief executive officer of the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) will deliver the keynote address at the event.

With the theme “Telecom Industry Fuelling the Future of e-Payment System” Dr. Emmanuel Ekuwem, president, Association of Telecommunications Companies of Nigeria (ATCON) and chief executive officer, Teledom International Limited and Sonny Aragba-Akpore, Head of News, The Guardian Newspapers and the doyen of ICT reporting in Nigeria, will also  play key roles at event.

The event will be chaired by Gbenga Adebayo, chairman, Association of Licensed Telecommunications Operators of Nigeria (Alton) while Dr. Chris Uwaje, the oracle of the Nigerians IT industry and regional director, D-Link West Africa will make a technical presentation on the security of the e-payment system.

Kyari Bukar, managing director, Valucard Nigeria, providers of e-payment processing infrastructure and Ken Aigbinode, executive vice chairman, ZoomMobile, pride of Nigeria telecommunications industry will present the various angles of their sectors.
