Sokoto – THE Sokoto State Government has approved the dualisation and construction of a total of 60.2 kilometres of roads to the tune of N5.2 billion.
Briefing newsmen shortly after the monthly State Executive Council meeting, Commissioner of Finance, Alhaji Faruk Malami Yabo, said the 9.7km Tashar Illelaâ€“Karaâ€“ Gidan Man Ada road, on the western by-pass and 2km Garba Duba road would be dualised at the cost of N5, 198,589,273.08 and N250,000,000.00, respectively.
The roads earmarked for construction are 24km Durbawa â€“ Maikujera road at the cost of N1, 025,028,145.00; 25km Dogon Karfe â€“ Ambarure – Daballi road, at the cost of N708,664,774.70.
Others are 14km Funare â€“ Lokore road at the cost of N859,455,749.25; 8.5km Dange â€“ Wababe road, at the cost of N254,519,401.50 and 7km Milgoma â€“ Bagarawa roadat the cost of N204,384,209.63.
In the same vein, the meeting also approved the construction of a modern abattoir in 12 months at the cost of N994,171,115.00.
