…wants ASUU to call off strike
By Henry Umoru
Abuja – THE National  Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Prince Vincent Ogbulafor said yesterday that the Abia State governor, Chief Theodore Orji will soon see the light and join the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Ogbulafor also called on the striking members of Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) to honour the agreements with the Federal government through the Minister of Education, Dr. Sam Egwu and call off the strike because our university students are suffering over a prolong stay at home.
“The Ministry of education has been doing its best to see that the problem is resolved, the Minister, Dr. Sam Egwu is negotiating well. The teachers are Nigerians, they are part of us, they should please be considerate and call off the strike, our children are suffering.
The lecturers should accept what the Ministry of education is saying, Iam pleading, the president is not relenting on his oars at resolving the problem, he should be given the chance by the lecturers by going back to workâ€, he pleaded.
Speaking with newsmen yesterday in Abuja, the PDP National Chairman who noted that he was not worried that Nigeria may become a one party state following cases of cross carpeting by elected political officers especially the governors, stressed that as Nigerians, we will come together as a body to help President Umaru Yar’Adua achieve his seven point agenda as well as provide dividends of democracy to the people of Nigeria.
