Yes, brand new videos are filtering into the tubes. Since P-Square’s ‘Danger’ premiered exclusively on Mtv last week, Olubankole Wellington aka Banky W has now dropped the first video off his coming album; The W Experience, and singer Naeto C’s followed suit.
In this outgoing week, Storm Records’ Naeto C dropped the club-banging video, ‘Ako mi ti po ju’ replete with the characteristic, clothing, ambience and 21st century scenes, while R N B pop dude Banky W opted for an 80s setting in interpreting his ‘Strong Ting’ lyrics.
Two tight videos by all standards, both videos shot in South Africa and serving as first singles off coming albums, the two videos portray two different worlds and times: the contemporary – defended by Naeto C’s ‘Ako mi ti po ju’, and the oldies adequately painted in Banky’s ‘Strong Thing’.
With song produced by Dr Frabz, the ‘Ako mi ti po ju’ video was directed by by Josh & Bobby. The video premiered on MTv on Tuesday, September 8. The Masters’ student at the University of Dundee, rapper, Naeto C is currently working on his yet-to-be-titled sophomore album since dropping his debut, ‘Ãou know my P’- the album which housed the rave of all time hit; Kini Big Deal.
While Empire Mates Entertainment (EME) representative in Nigeria, Banky W maximised light to achieve good cinematography in his movie-like 80s video; the song was originally produced by Cobhams.
