MTN Project Fame: Five for grand finale

AS the MTN Project Fame West Africa reality television show gets to the final stage, five contestants are set to slug it out on Sunday, September 27, for an opportunity to win the N25 million prize. The five contestants are Liberian Nicholas Bulgar, Mike Anyazodor, Madonna Robinnson, Tomiwa Sangonuga and Krimi Johnson, all Nigerians.

The show which commenced July 19, had fifteen contestants admitted into the musical academy, where they were trained in the various aspects of musical performances and all the elements of stardom.

The contestants were reduced to five, following the eviction of ten contestants including the recent elimination of Nigerian David Omodunmiju during last weekend’s elimination show, which also had Mike, Tomiwa and Madonna putting up a thrilling performance of their personal composition in order to escape eviction.

David, alongside the other three contestants, was earlier placed in what was described by the judges as an inevitable probation in the previous weekend’s show, given the brilliant performances displayed by all the contestants. Having gone through the one week of probation which also saw them visit various media houses and public places to solicit for votes from their fans, David became the unlucky one as he was not favoured by any of the saving graces in the show.

Mike was saved by the viewers and was announced by Mr Jolaolu Fakoya of the Alexander Forbes Consulting, as having the highest number of votes; Tomiwa was saved by the faculty for his consistency of performance since the show began while Madonna was saved by the fellow contestants who were not on probation.

Following David’s eviction, Mike, Tomiwa and Madonna returned to the academy to join Nicholas and Krimi in the race to emerge as the ultimate prize winner of the ten-week long show set to climax on Sunday at the Ultima Studios Limited, Ogba Lagos. With the five contestants having equal opportunity, only one contestant will emerge as the winner of the ultimate prize of N2.5 million, a one year recording deal and a Toyota RAV 4 Jeep.
