In Abia State, the anniversary ceremony was held at Ohafia, the headquarters of Abia North senatorial district.
Preaching a sermon at the occasion titled,”God’s promise to Israel”, the Abia North 1 region administrator, evangelist Egwu Arua said Ndigbo as a tribe of Israel must surely get to the promised land.
Quoting copiously from the Bible, Arua who described Uwazuruike as the Moses of Biafra, stated that the ills plaguing the Nigerian nation would be over when Biafra is free.
Arua who noted it was not yet uhuru for the movement, however gave positive appraisal for the struggle in the past ten years.
He said the struggle apart from the impart it has made in the international community, has also succeeded in given Ndigbo a new identity, stressing that Igbos have been enlightened through the struggle to know they are not accepted in the Nigerian federation.

He condemned the action of some of his members in London who are calling for the formation of a Biafran army, saying the Organization as a non violent body had no need for a standing army.
On the 2010 governorship election in Anambra State, he stated that, “MASSOB does not recognized Nigerian governorship election in Anambra State in 2010 and cannot participate in the said election”, adding, “MASSOB has no intention to disrupt the governorship election in that State or else where”.
