Katsina releases N90m to settle contractors who executed various projects for the council.
The state Commissioner for Local Government, Alhaji Musa Adamu, represented by Zonal Inspector of the ministry, Alhaji Nasiru Iliyasu, announced this while monitoring the presentation of cheques to contractors in Kankia, yesterday.
He said of the amount, N78 million was for the payment of contractors who built eight blocks of classrooms in each of Geza, Sukuntuni and Kanti towns in the local government area.
The commissioner also said the balance of N12 million was for the payment of contractors who handled road and other development projects and urged contractors to comply with project specification in the execution of projects.
Also speaking, Kankia local government chairman, Alhaji Bashir Babba, represented by the Director, Administration and Finance, Alhaji Abubakar Magaji, commended Governor Ibrhaim Shema for releasing the funds.
Babba assured the state government of the councilâ€™s continued commitment towards executing more development projects for the people of the area.
