DUTSE — THE Jigawa State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), has directed authorities of seven boarding primary schools in the state to establish clubs and societies in their respective schools.
Chairman of the board, Alhaji Sani Abdullahi, who gave the directive in a statement signed by the board’s Public Relations Officer, Malam Mati Ali, said in order to sustain the activities of the clubs and societies, his board had approved the sum of N50,000.
He argued that this was a better opportunity for the students to unlock their talents and enhance their extra curriculum activities in the schools, pointing out that curricula activities provide students with opportunities to learn numerous things outside the classroom as fast as in classroom settings.
The chairman, therefore, urged principals of the schools to rededicate themselves towards improvement in the conducive environment of their schools so as to achieve the desired objectives, noting that in the current financial year, the board will adopt new structures and undertake renovations of boarding primary schools in the state, while general or capital structures were to be executed subsequently.
