ABUJA—Former Delta State governor, Chief James Ibori, has launched a portal (website) to reverse what he described the misrepresentation of his person by the Nigerian media.
A press statement by his media aide, Tony Eluemunor, said the portal could also be a channel through which citizens of the country wishing to know about him could reach him.
“Now, two years after he has left office, two years within which he has remained focused as a private citizen, husband and father, business man, meeting the challenges of the post-office phase of his life, two years during which questions about how he could be reached by his teeming followers, supporters and mere admires, kept inundating his media office, he has decided to afford those genuinely interested the chance to really know him by opening a digital portal where answers to issues concerning him – officially – will resideâ€, he said.
The media aide said the medium could also provide facts on the former Delta State’s helmsman.
“This will afford any who has genuine questions about him, whether as a person or especially as a former governor of Delta State to come to and be sure of receiving factual and worthwhile answers.
Chief Ibori believes that as a former public official, he owes Nigerians that much in the spirit of democracy, for democracy is nothing but “a great conversationâ€.
“The result is that his opponents have taken undue advantage of that stance to deal in lies against him just to mislead the publicâ€, it read.
