ABUJA â€” MINISTER of the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA), Senator Muhammad Adamu Aliero said yesterday that the administration has concluded arrangements to build 5,000 houses in its Mass Housing Programme before 2011.
Speaking in Abuja yesterday when he received the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer, Federal Housing Authority (FHA), Architect Terver Gemade, Aliero who noted that the move would address the housing deficit in the Federal Capital Territory due to the ever influx of people, stressed that the FCT Administration in collaboration with the Federal Mortgage Bank was already working on lifeline fund worth over N2 billion committed for the project.
The MinisterÂ stressed that the FCT Administration intends to embark on mass relocation of villages of the Abuja natives within the Federal Capital City next year.
According to him, housing is one of the Seven Point Agenda of President Umaru Musa Yarâ€˜Adua; thus, he charged the Federal Housing Authority to support and buy into the laudable people oriented programme for the benefit of all the residents of the Federal Capital Territory.
