ENUGUâ€”THE Power Holding Company of Nigeria (PHCN) Enugu Distribution Zone has set up Zonal Task Force in the 14 Business Units in the zone, charged with the responsibility of recovering huge debts owed it by corporate bodies, government agencies and industrial concerns among others.
A statement by the Head Public Affairs of PHCN in the zone, Mr. Eseme Udoh, said the revenue taskforce, which is headed by the Chief Executive Officer of the company, Engr. K. J. Nwaoko, with various departmental heads as coordinators, became imperative sequel to the huge outstanding debts owed by various categories of electricity consumers in the zone.
He disclosed that the heavy debtors include military and para-military formations across the five states of the South East zone, Federal and State Government agencies, ministries and parastatals, residential, commercial and industrial customers.
Udoh urged the various debtors to settle the outstanding electricity bills to forestall embarrassment, adding that the company will not only disconnect power supply to the debtors but will also publish names of the debtors for public consumption.
He also announced that the Transition Board of PHCN has approved the appointment of two departmental heads in Enugu Electricity Distribution Company namely Engr. Geoffrey Onodu, Head Technical Services and Mr. Jude Ogukah, Head Audit.
