ASABA—DELTA State governor, Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan, has assured communities destroyed by the Joint Task Force (JTF) during the clash with militants few months ago that the government would rebuild all of such communities before March next year.
He said already, government had set machinery in motion to start the immediate reconstruction of towns in Ogborode and Okerenkoko clans that were destroyed during the ugly incident.
The governor stated this while presiding over the State Vision 2020 Council meeting in Asaba last weekend.
Promising that all communities destroyed during the May 13 crisis would be re-built by his administration, the Governor Uduaghan explained that the re-construction would be taken in turns, adding that after Okerenkoko and Ogborode, other communities would follow.
According to him “as a state, we are concerned in developing the destroyed communities like Okerenkoko and Ogborode.
“A committee will be set up to look into it. Already, a master plan had been drawn for the re-structuring and we hope they will be able to re-build the towns latest by March next year.â€
