Boko Haram: C-River debunks invasion rumour

CALABAR-The Cross River State government has debunked stories making the round in the state of a purported plan by the Boko Haram sect to cause mayhem and destruction in the state.
In a press statement signed by Mr. Patrick Ugbe, Chief Press Secretary/ Special Assistant to the Governor on Media, the governor informed Cross Riverians and residents that there was no truth in the rumour and, as such, should disregard it and go about their lawful duties/businesses.
According to Ugbe, government shall not hesitate to deal decisively with any person or group of persons who attempts to disrupt the peace currently being enjoyed in the state.
“We advise all well meaning individuals to desist from spreading or peddling such rumours. Cross River state remains a peaceful state with people of different religions coexisting peacefully,†the government said.
