By Vincent Ujumadu
AWKA—FORMER Anambra State chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Mr. Pandora Okwuosa and two others were Monday night arrested and paraded in Awka by security operatives for allegedly snatching ballot boxes during the ward congress of the party, which took place in the 326 wards in Anambra state.
The other two are Walter Amaegbu, a delegate aspirant and Cosmos Nwoye.
Governor Gabriel Suswam of Benue state, who is the chairman of the ward congress committee, while briefing newsmen on the outcome of the congress said police were investigating the matter, adding however, that apart from pockets of violence in some wards, the congress was substantially successful.
“On the average, the exercise was successful. There were reported cases of snatching of result sheets and arrests were made. What we are trying to entrench is proper internal democracy,” the Governor said.
