The Lagos State Police Commissioner, Mr. Marvel Akpoyibo, has again read the riot act to criminals in Lagos warning them to stay away from the State or be ready to face fire, especially during the “ember†months.
Fielding questions from newsmen on the issue in Lagos at the weekend, Akpoyibo said although the “ember†months are associated with high rate of crime, Lagos State would be a no-go area for criminals and hoodlums during the period.
“I want to send a strong signal to those hoodlums in the criminal world that Lagos is a no-go area and we will not have any room for themâ€, the Police boss warned adding that it will be better for them to keep away from the State not only during the “ember†months but at all times.
According to him, “Criminals and men of the underworld are better advised to keep away from Lagos State, not only during this period but at all times because this State will be made uncomfortable for them during the periodâ€.
The Commissioner said the Police in the State have concluded its plan in terms of the strategies and logistics to apply during the months to ensure the safety of life and property in Lagos adding, “We have been doing it and we want to do it on a wider scale, particularly now that we are entering what is often referred to as “ember†monthsâ€.
Lagos is no longer a place for criminals.
