The Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), Nigeria has secured about 400 jobs in various organisations, including multinationals, for some of the student-members of the body.
This was disclosed by the Country Manager, Mrs. Toyin Ademola during the association’s Employers Forum held recently in Lagos. The Forum, a networking platform for potential employers and the association’s student-members, is in its second year.
“This is a global initiative and is part of the value-added services that we give to our students- members and as a body that cares for its own, we are not just concerned about their educational career but also their corporate development and progression and that’s why we make it part of our efforts to provide for them links to the prospective Employers†she said.
Ademola said the association also monitors its students through a routine monitoring exercise which is done every six months. This mechanism is deployed to measure the progress, welfare and well-being of the students in all the organizations where they work. Employers are also encouraged to forward comments about ACCA students- members in their employment.
She appealed to the students to be good ambassadors of the association by upholding the professional ethical standards.
The forum which was supported by Presentations from PricewaterhouseCoopers Guaranty Trust Bank Plc , KPMG, GlaxoSmithKline, People Temp and several others, was well attended by top executives of several companies who spoke on their organizations, the benefits of working with them and other accounting issues.
ACCA is the global body for professional accountants and is guided by high principles of integrity.
The Association offers business-relevant, first-choice qualifications to people of application, ability and ambition around the world who seek a rewarding career in accountancy, finance and management.
