The Joint Presidential candidate of the Alliance for Democracy (AD)/All Nigeria Peoples Party (ANPP) in the 1999 general poll, Chief Olu Falae, has said the 2011 general election will produce unpopular government if the nation fail to have true electoral reform.
According to Falae, the current Constitution of the Republic of Nigeria cannot guarantee free and fair election because there were lot of anomalies in it and needed to be corrected without further delay.
He spoke with newsmen after a meeting with the chieftains of the Mega Summit Movement (MSM), in Ikeja, Lagos.
Falae, who described the present composition of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), as incapable of conducting popular election, urged members of the Senate and the Federal House of Representatives as well as Nigerians to take urgent move in reviewing the constitution particularly as it affects electoral reform.
He, however, added that the much-agitated electoral reform is suffering setback by members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), because it will not favour their alleged antics which they had used to win elections.
Falae blamed most of the problems confronting the nation on visionless leadership as well as imbalance Constitution.
He said one of the reasons for forming MSM is to forge a formidable group that will save the country from being one party state as well as provide the needed tonic for Nigeria to move forward and take its place in the comity of nations
Meanwhile, MSM has resolved to embark on further consultations with stakeholders and groups which have indicated interest in its vision with regard to the formation of a new political party to contest the 2011 general election.

Well,we pray long live nigeria nd right within we are praying nigeria 2 die with all our actins.no more luv nd pity for masses 4rm d leaders den why wil d policies work?educatn sector is experiecing setback, fear in d banking sector, militants treatens, corruptn prevail in all ministries nd sectors wh way naija@49 mind yu ghana wil soon become home 4 investors while most are runing out of nigeria pls tinks our leaders nd let broderly continues.
Falae said the truth. Visionless leaders. The Bible says where there is no vision, the people perish. Nigeria’s backwardness despite all resources at its disposal is due to visionless people who are governing the country, from presidency to counsellorship. However, Falae himself worked with these visionless people.
The opposition should boycott all elections if a comprehensive review of the constitution vis-a-vis electoral reforms is not undertaken by this visionless government.
The oracle says 2013…
Nigerian need clean brake from all past leaders as they are more of the problems than solution. Nigeria need vibrant leaders with patriotic zeal backed with passion to serve the end of the common man. Enough of the rhetoric. Good leadership can be demonstrated even from a subnational entity a good example is the rapid transformation of Lagos State under the present Governor R. Fashola. I have sighted him many times inspecting jobs in Lagos without retinue of aides and psychophants characteristics of Nigerian governors. That is what determination is all about. Let Pres. Yar Adua see first hand the deplorable states of our roads as compared to most of the western and even arab countries he has been visiting this will fire up his patriotic zeal sitting pretty in aso rocks and disshing out policies are unhelpful he must see to their implementation.
I am happy to hear a politician admit that the trouble with Nigeria is with her leadership but I doubt the solution could still be traced in allowing an insensitive man perform such task as equal to sanctification.
