Onitsha â€” The African Democratic Change(ADC) will today hold its state congress in Awka, to elect its flagbearer for the 2010 governorship election in Anambra state.
A statement by the national publicity secretary of the party, Mr Anayo Arinze, said each ward in the state, was expected to nominate one delegate, while four delegates were expected from each of the 21 local governments in the state.
He futther said that members of the state executive of the party would also participate in the congress.
According to Arinze, the congress would kick off by 12 noon at Cana House, Awka, adding that the Independent National Electoral Commission(INEC), had been put on notice and was expected to be present to observe the exercise.
In another development, the national chairman of the party and a governorship aspirant for the 2010 election, Chief Okey Nwosu, has promised to provide 1000 jobs yearly for the unemployed youths in the state.
Nwosu stated this when he received a delegation of students of Anambra state indigenes under the umbrella of National Association of Nigerian Students(NANS) in his Awka residence.
