Abakaliki – Senate Committee Chairman on Works, Senator Julius Ucha is currently offering free medical treatment in Ebonyi state, beginning from his immediate constituency, Ebony central senatorial zone, which he represents at the National Assembly.
Senator Ucha, who is giving the free medical services through his Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO), the Ebonyi Humanity Foundation (EHF), which is expected to cover 17 communities in the constituency, said that women and men in the selected communities would receive free medical services, such as HIV counseling and testing, high blood pressure, diabetes and eye tests, and public enlightenment on other health issues, such as breast and cervical cancer and breast feeding.
Speaking at the commencement venue in Umuhuali, Ishielu Local Government Area, during the Agaust meeting of Umuhuali women, Senator Ucha said that those who are found to be sick or that tested positive to HIV, would be referred to the appropriate treatment centres for proper medical care with the assistance of the Foundation.
The Senator, who was represented by the Secretary of the Foundation, Mr. Godwin Alegu said that EHF is a non political and non governmental organisation, which has been involved in humanitarian services.
