Jos – Chairman of the Caretaker Committee appointed to oversee the affairs of the PDP in Plateau State, Chief Abu King Shiluwa says the committee was now ready to commence its assignment following the non-renewal of the court order restraining it.
He told journalists, yesterday, that the committee would seal up the secretariats of the dissolved factions if they continue to operate against the directive of the national secretariat of the party.
He said an interlocutory injunction subsists for seven days after which it expires, adding that contrary to insinuations his committee was inaugurated before the injuction by the Jos High Court was served on the party.
“Injunction is normally seven days. Until you ask for extension before it can be extended. We have not been served with further injunction, so we are going ahead with our duties,†Shiluwa said.
He said the committee limited itself to visitation since it reported in the state in deference to the Rule of Law, but would now commence its assignment in the absence of any fresh court order.
He said the committee had been making wide consultations with stakeholders towards the success of its assignment in the state and would soon organize congresses from ward to state level.
