CHIEF Tony Anenih led  faction of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Edo South Senatorial District of Edo State, led by Chief Owere Dickson-Imasogie, has faulted the suspension of the chairman of Oredo Local Government Council of the state, Mike Ehima by Governor Adams Oshiomhole and urged the governor to reverse the decision so as to avert crisis in the council.
The governor suspended the council boss last Wednesday for alleged misappropriation of council funds and failure to pay staff of the council salaries for two months. However, addressing newsmen in Benin City, Imasogie who was flanked by the immediate past state representative in the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), Matthew Iduoriyenkenwen, ex-officio member of the party, Henry Idahagbon, Osahon and other leaders of the party, said the suspension was illegal since it was not approved by the state House of Assembly.
The party said it was strange for the governor to be relying on an odious law of 2000, when there is a current law of 2006 which stipulated the procedure to suspend an erring chairman. According to Chief Imasogie
