ABAKALIKI – MEN of the Nigeria Civil Defence and Security Corps (NSCDC) in Ebonyi state are currently prosecuting five petroleum dealers, caught with adulterated products meant for the state (Eboyi).
Besides that, the state NCDSC has also referred some other cases to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) bordering onÂ economic sabotage.
Showing Vanguard a truck, yesterday, allegedly arrested by men of the command, the Ebonyi state commandant of NCDSC, Philip Ayuba said his men arrested the truck belonging to a dealer in Abakaliki, conveying 15, 665 liters of adulterated petroleum products. Ayuba stated that after investigations, both the supervisor and driver of the company had been handed over to the EFCC.
The NCDSC boss said that his men acted on a tip off and blocked the tanker in Abakaliki, where it conducted tests to confirm that the product was condescent. He urged the public to always volunteer information that would aid them in apprehending such enemies of the public.
â€œWe advise the public to please alert us in cases like this so that we can sanitize the system. These adulterated products damage vehicles, creates hazards and kills. They cause damages that cause fire, so people should please help by giving information to NSDSC,â€ pleaded Ayuba.
