Asaba—CHAIRMAN of the Nigeria Export Processing Zone Authority (NEPZA), Mr. Shino Agulaja, has said about 250,000 jobs are expected to be created when the Koko Free Trade Zone becomes functional.
Agulaja who stated while presenting the license for the Koko Free Trade Zone to the Delta State governor, Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan in Asaba, however, urged the state governor to pursue the project vigorously by making it functional within the next one year.
He further said that the Koko Free Trade Zone spans 2.3 hectres and is hopeful that in not-too-distant future its image will loom large like the Calabar free trade zone where Tinapa is situated.
In his remarks, Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan said “this is great achievement because the area covered by this is 2.3 hectares and you will do your business here without the usual inhibitions of any kind of tax or excise duty.
“Indeed there is enough for everyday to do hereâ€, he stated.
