DUTSE – Jigawa state government has been called upon to redouble its efforts towards the development of girl-child education in the state, especially with the newly introduced programme of Free Education for girls from primary to tertiary institutions.
Speaking with Vanguard in Dutse, President of National Association of Jigawa State Students (NAJISS), Comrade Adamu Sa’ad Madaki, said the call become necessary in view of the importance of women’s education noting that “when you educate a woman you educate a society.
Even if she will not work in government or public places, she will be responsible for the discipline of the children as well as take good care of both the husband and the children.â€
Madaki said that there is need for the government to invest more resources on the development of girl-child education arguing that if the free education programme for all the girls succeeds in the state, it will lead to development.
