Jos -Â Governor Jonah Jang of Plateau State has again stressed the importance ofÂ peaceful co-existence among the people of the state saying there could be no development without peace.
He stated this last weekend when he paid a condolence visit to the Muslim community in Jos over the death of the Chief Imam of Jos Central Mosque Sheikh Saâ€™id Hammajam who died last Friday.
Jang who was hopeful that there would be no future crisis in the state enjoined all to work for the achievement of peace in the state adding that Plateau should be a peace setter for others in the maintenance of peace.
â€œI will like to enjoin everybody to embrace peace so that we can achieve development. By the grace of God there will be no more crisis in Plateau Stateâ€, he said.
He described the death of Sheikh Hammajam as a big loss to the entire state describing him as a strict religious leader who never interfered in political matters.
