Fayrouz soft drink stormed theÂ Iyan-Ipaja camp of Lagos NYSC where consumers were treated to the taste of the non-alcoholic drink at the on-going NYSC Orientation camp.
Fayrouz is theÂ non_alcoholic drink with a golden foam head which comes in two flavours-Pineapple and Pear.
Fayrouz was launched in December 2006.
The Lagos NYSC camp on Sunday witnessed the giving out ofÂ branded gift items, as well as aÂ lucky_dip that followed each purchase of the product at the camp.
The manicure and pedicure section of the bubbling pavilion was most active as female corps members were seen trooping in and out to plait their hair and make their nails.
A corps member, simply identified as Hajia Fatima, who won a prize to â€œwash and setâ€ her hair commended Fayrouz for the opportunity saying â€œhaving enjoyed the non_alcoholic malt beverage drink I still have the privilege to do my hair free of chargeâ€. Fatima noted that her husband who is based in Kaduna would have coughed out about N2, 500 to make her look good. She enthused: â€œFayrouz tastes just like wine. This is undoubtedly the Champaign of soft drinks.â€
Another corps member, Teju Ajao, described Nigerian Breweries Plc as a good corporate citizen whose consumersâ€™ interest is paramount. She noted that despite huge sales being made by Nigerian Breweries Plc on Fayrouz at the camp, the company has committed huge amount of money into making the camp fun_filled for youth corps members.
She however, urged Nigerian Breweries not only to maintain the standard of the product but make it more available all over the Federation. â€œI want them to make it more readily available in Kaduna where I live with my family and other parts of the Northern parts of the countryâ€, she said.
According to the Senior Brand Manager, Fayrouz, Ita Bassey, efforts had been made to make the product available in all the nooks and crannies of the country. He assured consumers of Fayrouz to be rest assure of adequate supply of the product at their door-steps wherever, they may be in Nigeria.
He explained that Fayrouz would do everything humanly possible to make the period of orientation camp enjoyable for the youth corps members posted toÂ Lagos state and other states of the federation where Fayrouz is currently present to create an atmosphere of fun and relaxation for the corps members.
He disclosed that Fayrouz would be partnering the NYSC authorities in Lagos, Enugu, Kaduna and Federal Capital Territory (FCT) to organize the Miss NYSC Contest and Variety Night to give this yearâ€™s edition of the orientation camp the glamour it deserves.
He explained that first prize of 16G Apple iphone would go to the winner of the contest in each of the four locations, adding that a TV set goes to the first runner_up while a Refrigerator and a DVD Player would go to both the third and fourth runners_up respectively. He added that several consolation prizes would be given out to other contestants.
