Lagos – The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) has gone into partnership with the Nigerian Air-Force (NAF), to strengthen security at the nation’s airports.
The partnership is informed by latest threats to aviation safety by the Movement for the Emancipation of the Niger Delta (MEND) and adherents of the Boko Haram sect.
The resolution was the outcome of a meeting held between FAAN Managing Director, Mr. Richard Aisuebeogun and the Inspection branch of NAF, Abuja, led by Air Vice- Marshal Ahmed Muazu, in Lagos, at the weekend.
Aisuebeogun expressed delight at the rejuvenated joint efforts between both parties, adding that civil security practise was not complete without input from the military to guarantee security and safety of passengers and equipment at airports across the country.
He noted that security was paramount to FAAN, and assured that it would treat any request from NAF on safety with dispatch.
