CSR : Centage Mortgage Bank empower youths

In line with its Corporate  Social Responsibility (CSR) policy, Centage Mortgage Bank, one of the country’s Primary Mortgage Institutions(PMI), has embarked on a mission to empower the youths through a talent hunt promo.

The promo which had its first auditioning last week  is dedicated towards  giving  opportunity to young musical artists to discover their talents and become superstars in their calling.

Christened, The Centage  Promo, it is being  driven  in partnership with Kenny’s Music, the music outfit of the celebrated TV presenter and music promoter, Kenny Ogungbe.
Managing Director of the bank, Mr. Gabriel Ndukwe, disclosed that the bank decided to embark on the promo as a strategy to impact positively  on its business environment and give back to a society and community that has been very friendly to the bank.  ‘This is no doubt a fantastic opportunity Centage has designed to give back to the society what it has gained over time from its business activities,” Ndukwe told the mammoth crowd that gathered at the Civic Centre in Victoria Island, Lagos, for the launch of the promo penultimate Friday.

For Ogungbe, the Promo is a well conceived effort to harness the innate resources of the Nigerian youths, and engage them with an interest that is capable of offering a new orientation and taking them away from the prevailing culture of vice that is the bane of the Nigerian society today. “The promo is a celebration of talent and a celebration of life. We have set out to discover someone who will become an inspiration to others,” he added.

On her part, Queen Ure Okezie, the Group Head, Treasury, Financial Services & Sales of the bank,  who is also the visionary and initiator of the project, said the product has the potential of not only bringing smiles to the faces of everyone that participates, but also has the potential to extensively alleviate poverty in the country.  “We know very clearly that the entertainment industry can be a viable source of economic growth for any country. It is with this understanding in addition to our social responsibility and our passion to encourage our young people and our concern for the economic situation of our country that we have come up with this promo,” declared Queen.

Giving information on the logistics for the promo, Ndukwe declared that series of auditioning and musical competitions to determine who will emerge as the Centage Super Star  will be  held at four major cities in Nigeria; Lagos, Abuja, Jos and Owerri. While the ultimate winner will be given a cash prize of N2 million, a Prado Jeep and a record contract worth N10 million with Kenny’s Music, there will also be other consolation prizes to be given to runners-ups.

In addition to the talented artists, the promo also offers opportunity  for all participants to own a house in Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory and win other prizes  through a raffle draw. “Therefore, The Centage SuperStar Promo is designed as an integrated package aimed at benefiting not only young people with musical talents, but also everybody irrespective of age of skill,” disclosed Ndukwe.

By the promo Centage is blazing a trail in the mortgage sector by deploying consumer promo which is more popular with operators in the Fast Moving Consumer Group (FMCG) sub-sector to market and drive the mortgage banking business.
