Business Council moves to empower entrepreneurs through training
Nigeria – Malaysia Business Council has floated an Enterprise Empowerment and Training Unit, saying the move is to assist local entrepreneurs to grow their businesses profitably using the experience and expertise of Malaysia companies’s model.
Speaking during an interactive session with the media in Lagos, Member Governing Council, Mr. Gbemi Adekekan , said the Council, has designed various projects that will be executed through the Enterprise Empowerment and Training Unit, to stimulate training programmes for empowerment of Council’s members and non-member through skill acquisition and training for various trades.
He further disclosed that in a bid to stimulate joint venture partnership in the key sectors Nigeria economy, the Council will next month embark on a five day business exchange visit to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, and urged local entrepreneurs to participate in the programme because of the potential benefits to participating firms.
The Council, he said, supports the growth and expansion of entrepreneurial business through education and training, business networking, and advocacy .
The Enterprise and Empowerment Training Unit of  the Council is committed to assist entrepreneur to add value to their existing business growth and profitability using experience and expertise of Malaysian and Nigeria companies and consultant.
The objectives of the Enterprise Empowerment and Training Unit are as follows: to make availablre the expertise and experience of successful Malaysian and Nigerian consultants companies which help to assist and address the low level entrepreneurial know-how among our people, to stimulate innovation and creative imagination in our businesses in our pursuit for profitability and excellence, to provide a forum whereby Nigerian and Malaysian business men can share knowledge on various sectors of the economy, among others.
