Akpeki urges Urhobo nation to support Uduaghan for 2nd term
UGHELLI—CHAIRMAN of the Delta State School of Health Technology, Ofuoma-Ughelli, Chief Paulinus Akpeki, has charged the people of Urhobo nation to support the second term bid of the State Governor, Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan.
Giving the charge at Okpara, Ethiope East Local Government Area of the state during a meeting of the Urhobo Political Forum (UPF), hosted by Mr. Love Ojakovo, one-time commissioner for finance in the state, Akpeki said the outstanding achievements of Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan in the last two years of his administration were enough reasons for the Urhobo and the entire people of the state to give him a second chance in 2011.
He insisted that Uduaghan has been very faithful to the agreement reached in 2007 and said the interest of the Urhobo were being represented adequately in the Governor Uduaghan’s administration. He held that the governor deserved a second term to enable him impact positively on the lives of Deltans.
According to Akpeki, the Urhobo were occupying key positions in the Dr. Uduaghan-led government of the state, adding that the massive infrastructural development in Urhobo nation qualifies him (Uduaghan) for Urhobo political support and understanding.
While enjoining urhobo youths not to be misled by the antics of those who want to stand on the shoulder of ethnic politics to push for their selfish political agenda, he said it was in the interest of the Urhobos for Uduaghan to be given another term of four years.
