Chairman, Association of Licesed Telecommunications Operators in Nigeria, ALTON, Engr Gbenga Adebayo has been announced as the chairman of the Telecom/Device forum to hold in Lagos next month.
This is as his counterpart on the Information Technology front, a man generally described as the Oracle of Nigerian IT industry, Mr Chris Uwaje would be opening participantsâ€™ eyes on the need to be security conscious and the dangers of not doing so, particularly on the area of IT security. The forum, is designed for key actors in the telecommunications, banking, e-payment channel providers, device manufacturers, network operators, software vendors, distributors and retailers, as well as internet service providers.
Meanwhile, organisers of the event, Nigerian Communications Week magazine in collaboration with the Nigerian Communications Commission, NCC, have also confirmed the attendance of managing director, Nigerian Inter-Bank Settlement System (NIBSS), Dr. Paul Lawal,Â managing director, Valucard Nigeria, Mr Kyari Bukar, as well as Bekele Tadesse, Sales director, Harris Stratex Nigeria among others. They are expected to present valid forecasts of developments in the telecom industry and examine the driving forces behind these developments especially in e-payment and emerging technologies at the forum slated for September 22 at Golden Gate Restaurant in Lagos .
The theme of the forum is â€œTelecom Industry Fuelling the Future of e-Payment Systemâ€ and is designed to give both the layperson and the professional an update of emerging technologies, e-payment and handheld devices and related business trends and events.
Reuben Mouka, head, public affairs of the NCC and Ken Nwogbo, editor, Nigeria CommunicationsWeek said the forum would enrich participants and give them first hand information on practical cases involved in most telecom devices.
