‘Be good ambassadors of your alma mater’

Chairman, New Fountain Montessori Children School, Pastor Austen Ukachi has called on the graduating pupils to be of good ambassadors of the school. He gave this charge recently while delivering a speech at the 5th graduation ceremony of the New Fountain Montessori Children School which took place at De Jamz Base Amuwo Odofin, Lagos.

According to Austen, the occasion was a significant day in the history of the school because it was the first time it will be having the primary six pupils graduating, and also  graduating with the ruby class pupils. Stressing that, with the development, he can say categorically that the New Fountain Montessori Children School has come of age and is now a fully fledged academic institution since every class in the elementary school is operational.

His words: “We remind the primary six graduands as they leave, that we expect them to be role models, and to show examples as paragons of excellence wherever they go.

They should know that the characters they exhibit at home and in public speak a lot about the image of this school. Therefore, they should show the exemplary character of integrity, humility, honesty, hard work and selflessness.

We want to assure the parents that in New Fountain, we shall remain committed to our ideals to nourish, nurture, mentor and groom children in the spirit of excellence in all aspects of their lives.” Continuing, he said the school will not relent in its pursuit of the ideals which we belief and stand for.

Pastor Austen further told parents that plans have reached an advanced stage to commence the New Fountain Secondary School, as from September 2010 which will be a non-boarding school, with all the most modern facilities and comparable to any other post primary school in the nation adding that in future, it will be the school delight to have its pupils graduate into the New Fountain Secondary School.

“It is our hope and prayer that our sixth form graduands who are leaving to other schools will be good ambassadors of this school bearing in mind our goal of raising children of character and confidence,” he said. He encourage the pupils to always carry the banner of New Fountain Montessori Children School high wherever they go.

Austen, however shew his appreciation to parents who trusted in the school to have entrusted their children to the school’s. He assured parents that the school will not let them down.

“It is our belief that the task of bringing up children is a shared responsibility between parents and public institutions like the New Fountain Montessori Children School. We will always do our best to assist parents in this dual responsibility, he said.

Parents and well wishers at the occasion showered praises and prayers on both the children and teachers as the pupils displayed their talents in entertainment dance, songs and choreography before the  viewers and audience.
