WARRIâ€” MEMBERÂ representing the WarriÂ Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives,Â Mrs. Daniel Reyenieju, has describedÂ yesterdayâ€™s judicial verdict of the Election Petition l Panel at Asaba, Delta State as victory for democracy, tagging same as no-victor-no-vanquish.
Speaking to airport correspondents yesterday at the MurtalaÂ Muhammed Airport on his way to Abuja after the completion of his committeeâ€™sÂ oversight functions at Mobil Niger Unlimited, Mr. Reyenieju, who heads the House Team said the verdict of the tribunal, â€œhas helped to deepen democracy in Delta State, and Nigeria.â€
He congratulated the governor of Delta State, Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan for the victory and equally congratulated the petitioner, Mr. Peter Okocha for his efforts which in his view â€œhas the strong potentials of deepening our democracy and the rule of law.â€
He appealed to all Deltans to see the judicial victory of the governor as collective victory and a call to service and dedication to the cause of our state and Nigeria in general.
Speaking in the same veinÂ through a telephone conversation from Ogheye in the Benin River of Warri North Local Government, NationalÂ President of Itsekiri National Youths CouncilÂ (INYC), Mr. David Tonwe, congratulated Governor Uduaghan onÂ his victory at the tribunal and implored him to as usual display his statesmanship and accommodating spirit.
He also congratulated Mr. Okocha for his courage and the desire for justice, calling on him to join the state governor to build a better Delta State which would be the envy of all.
