TWO suspected human parts dealers were yesterday burnt to death by an irate mob for allegedly being in possession of human parts.
The duo were burnt at about noon in Abeokuta, Ogun State capital. Eyewitness account said that three men dressed as if they were mentally unbalanced were accosted by people close to the Olomore fish market in the state capital after their suspicious movement.
They were said to have been searched only to find a nylon bag containing some human parts including eyeballs, fingers and private parts on them.
Apparently angry with what was found, the huge crowd began to beat up the men while one of them managed to run under the bridge and made good his escape. The crowd, which then had become feverish, gathered used motor vehicle tyres and set the men ablaze before the arrival of policemen.
The human parts allegedly found with the men were also burnt. Ogun State Police public relations officer [PPRO], Mr. Muyiwa Adejobi, who confirmed the story however lamented the burning of the suspects which he said has made investigation difficult.
