The International Air-port Abuja will be agog today as athletes jet in, preparatory to the Mobil Championship holding next week.
By 7.15pm KLM Airlines will jet into Abuja carrying in its belly over eleven Nigerian professionals athletes including Blessing Abinuwa, Vivian Chukwumeka, Osayomi Damola, Blessing Okagbare, Ismaila Halimat, Stanley Gbagbeki, Amaechi Morton and Olivia Kizzee Precious.
Olivia it was revealed at 23.1 has the best 200 metres time in the Nigerian contingent and more is expected from her as she makes her debut in the country.
Also expected are Ohanaja Jessica and Adegun Morian who are hurdlers. On the same flight will be athletes from Trinidad and Tobago, Liberia and the United States of America including Heninger Monique, Kikaya Gary and Atonniette Alexander among others.
The protocol and ceremonial sub-comittee of the AFN as at press time was on top of the situation to guarantee a hitch free reception at the airport.
While the foreign athletes will compete in the Grand Prix and go back, the Nigerians will stay back and flex muscles for the all important Mobil Championship.
