WIFE of the Senate President, Dr. Rosemarie Mark yesterday lamented the loss of her luggage, some money and a lap-top in Amsterdam, Netherlands, describing her experience in the hands of a gang within the international airport as painful.
Dr Mark who spoke in Abeokuta, Ogun State during the Anniversary of the Nigerian Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ) in the state said the police at the Airport were doing their best to recover it, adding that she would be willing to part with the rest of the luggage if only those who stole her property could return her laptop.
Mrs. Mark who spoke on the topic: “Using the pen positively to achieve greatness†urged Nigerian women to continue striving to be leaders as they were in their respective homes quietly.
“I urge them to bring discipline in politics. As mothers and women, we have to nurture people in politics”.
We have to bring hope in the younger ones that are coming because as mothers, our task is to nurture everyone in such a way that our future would be for our country.
Mark who said she had no regret for not having a woman as governor in Nigeria, however, said she was optimistic that “at least a woman would emerge as governor in the next political dispensationâ€.
“We are growing towards that. It is obvious, probably that in the next dispensation, there would be at least one woman governor. Like I have said, we women must come together and support women for greatness.
“We women must take our rightful place; we must be our friends and support ourselves. It is after doing this, that collectively we can say we have achieved not only in our society, but in the whole of creationâ€.
