ABUJA — The Federal Government yesterday explained that the ongoing land reform process would launch the majority of Nigerians working and living in rural areas into the mainstream of the global market economy by issuing them with Certificate of Occupancy and land titles.
The reform is aimed at removing the hitherto slow, frustrating and cumbersome process of land administration and pay the way for modernisation processes of land administration in the country.
To give impetus to the work plans aimed at fast tacking the implementation of the process, the Federal Government yesterday organised its 2nd national workshop of the National Technical Development Forum on Land Administration.
Minister of Works, Housing and Urban Development, Dr. Hassan Mohammed Lawal, declared the workshop open in Abuja, with the theme: “Implementing the Land Reform Agenda of the Government.â€
