IBADANâ€”â€œGlobal economic and financial crisis and job creation: Implications for construction and Wood industryâ€, is the thrust of a 6-day conference being organised by the National Union of Civil Engineering Construction, Furniture and Wood Workers (NUCECFWW) in this year’s annual industrial relation\education workshop.
Taking place in Ibadan, the conference according to a statement by the unionâ€™s general secretary, Comrade Babatunde Ladi, would highlight recent developments, assumptions and uncertainties on the emerging issues regarding the global economic meltdown across the globe.
According to the statement, the conference was intended to deliberate on all forms of various national and international policies and implications for workers within the sector.
The statement said: The main objective of the conference is to identify the challenges of this new trend to the actors in industrial relations generally.
