A pressure group, Ndokwa Youths Worldwide (NYWW), has urged Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan to consider Ndokwa ethnic nationality particularly Ndokwa East area in the citing of the proposed gas processing hub in the state.
In a statement signed by the group’s President and Secretary General, comrade Friday Osanebi and Nzete Anselem, it argued that 60 per cent of the oil and gas revenue of the state comes from Ndokwa nation through the Okpai-Kwale Gas plant which is the largest in West Africa.
According to the group, this has made Nigeria to become one of the world top four gas producers. It therefore appealed to Governor Uduaghan to involve Ndokwa indigenes in the proposed state Joint Advisory Committee on Gas master plan.
The group also commended Governor Uduaghan for insisting that host community should be involved in the operation of oil companies that are bidding to invest in gas sector as well as the governor’s commitment in the Nigeria Gas master plan.
The group then expressed its readiness to continue to partner with the state government in all its development programmes. It also advised Ndokwa youths to shun all forms of violence and other criminal activities.
