KOKO—THE Federal Government sponsored Petroleum Bill and its decision to transfer the Petroleum University from Effurun, Delta State to Kaduna has been described as “a policy somersault that was ill-conceived, ill-advised and illogical.â€
This view was expressed on Monday by the Chairman of oil-bearing Abigborodo community in Delta State, Mr. Francis Eyituoyor-Maku.
He said “the issue has opened a pandora box of fresh discontent and agitation over resource control in the Niger Delta.â€
Eyituoyor-Maku who extolled the Delta State Governor, Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan and other South-South governors for their collective position taken on the issue, advised: “I want the governors to be on the alert for any form of blackmail they may likely face for their courageous dissent with a policy that is anathema to the Niger Delta and its people. Such tactics was adopted in the past and it is likely to be employed again.â€
