n and intends to plead with President Umaru Yar’Adua to prevail on Okocha to quit retirement and lace his boots once again for Nigeria at the World Cup in South Africa.
Fash, as the England born player cum businessman is called, said he so keen on getting the midfield maestro back to the team. He added that he had even discussed the issue with the former Bolton Wanderers captain.

“Bringing back Okocha to the Eagles will do the country’s soccer al lot of good. If we can persuade Okocha to return, I will be so glad. I have discussed this with him and even went further to ask how much he wants to quit retirement.

To tell you how serious I am about this issue, I am trying not only to persuade him but also to get the President to prevail on him. If the President could have a one-on-one discussion with Okocha, I believe that will do the trick. It would be a wonderful thing for Nigeria to have Okocha back in action. He is a player.

I saw him when he was playing for Hull City. I also saw him when he was playing in an Arab country and I believe he can still play. I can confident that he can still produce those flash of magic that changes a game”, Fashanu said.
