ABUJAâ€”Controversies trailed on the distribution of Malaria funds at the state level, as Nigerian government received yet another $100million from World Bank to fund the countries rid malaria initiative.
With the WHO 2015 target to rid the country of Managers of malaria from some states have expressed concern over non- accessibility and adequate utilization of malaria funds at the state. According to them, â€œwe were not able to access the funds for the implementation of the project.
These concerns were raised yesterday in Abuja at a review workshop organised by the Ministry of Health under the national roll back malaria initiatives in collaboration with some development partners is.
Malaria managers from Bauchi and Anambra joined some of their colleagues to express their worry and concern, saying, â€œ accessibility of funds is the greatest challenges facing us. â€œ Also the programme is not given priority, as the funds are diverted to other areasâ€.
