OWERRI – Cattle dealers in Okigwe Local Government Area of Imo state have been assured of governmentâ€™s preparedness to create an enabling environment for their business to thrive.
The Commissioner for Commerce and Industry, Dr. Geff Ojinika, made this known, when he played host to members of Okigwe Cattle Dealers Association in his office.
â€œGovernment will do everything possible to support your business to grow to enviable heights. This administration is also assuring you of adequate security in the market to check the activities of armed robbers in the areaâ€, Ojinika said.
He also assured them that government will assist them in reaching the Sultan of Sokoto and the Sokoto State Commissioner for Commerce with a view to making their business transactions smooth.
The leader of the delegation, Chief Paul Ogujiofor, who spoke at the occasion solicited the assistance of the state government in reaching the Sultan of Sokoto and other relevant government agencies in Sokoto state toÂ help their business thrive.
In a similar development, footwear makers in Imo state have been assured of governmentâ€™s readiness to assist them become captains of footwear industries in the state.
Dr. Ojinika gave the assurance when the Footwear Makers Association paid him a courtesy visit in his office.
â€œGovernment is bringing donor agencies that will assist artisans in the state. I urge you all to strive to get a space at the Industrial cluster, Naze, to avoid bringing in people of questionable charaters into the arrangementâ€, Ojinika pleaded.
