By Emmanuel Edukugho
On the occasion of the Adeniran  Ogunsanya College of Education (AOCOED)  50th Anniversary which coincided with its Joint 27th & 28th Convocation Ceremony, witnessed by the Moderator of the College, Governor Babatunde Raji Fashola (SAN) as well as the immediate Executive Governor of the Lagos State,  Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the Chairman of the College Governing Council, Mrs Adefemi Taire,  in her opening address, observed that the College Master Plan was due for review to meet with the challenges of contemporary higher institution and the reality of  our time.

Following that observation, the Governor of Lagos State and Moderator, Mr. Fashola, directed that a comprehensive report on the level of implementation of the Master plan of the College be determined with a view to coming up with proposals for a comprehensive and functional implementable plan.

Consequent upon this directive, the Development Committee, a committee of the College Council, for and behalf of the Governing Council on 9th June, 2008 approved the composition of an inter-ministerial/departmental committee to address the matter.

•Representation of Permanent Secretary, Land Bureau.

•Mr Bola Y. Shittu, Deputy Registrar (Personnel Senior) who served as Secretary to the Committee.

Chiefly among the terms of reference of this committee are:
To identify the extent of proper implementation of the College Master Plan;

To determine the extent/level of distortion; advise on possible review and make suggestion on ways and means of ensuring efficient implementation of the outstanding parts of the plan.

To achieve an enduring Master plan for the College, the Committee co-opted officials from other governmental agencies such as LASEPA, Lagos State Ministry of Work and Environment.
