The Progressive Peoples Alliance (PPA) has offered to absorb the troubled All Progressive Peoples Alliance (APGA) in the face of insinuations that none of the factions of the party will be allowed to present a candidate in the 2010 Governorship election.
The PPA said in a statement by Chief Ben Onyechere, National Publicity Secretary, that “the PPA is seriously concerned because both factions have brought shame to Ojukwu, who of course had fought a good fight.
Orji Kalu reconciled Nigeria when he brought Ojukwu, Ekwueme, Babangida, Buhari together in his village where they setlled their differences.
“The problem of APGA is intractable and without remedy, especially with the recent pronouncements by INEC and the courts. Anambra is strategic in Igbo land, it is therefore imperative to submerge APGA into PPA. Anambra people can not afford to sell their soul and conscience to a party that reduced their brother, Ekwueme, to nothing despite the fact that he helped to build the PDP.
“There ought to have been a high level of development, such that would have reduced joblessness and youth restiveness in Anambra state because of the number of people from the state who had been in corridors of power before. The entrenchment of a PPA government in Anambra rests with the people who are the actual votersâ€, he said.
