THE rage that overwhelmed Mr. Monday Oritsejaro,father of Miss Damilola, the  9-year-old primary five pupil of Meoka Primary and Nursery school, Ishefun Ayobo in Alimosho Local Government area of Lagos State who was raped by her school headmaster,

Mr. Umana Inuanam, was akin to that of a wounded lion as he dashed into the Ayobo Divisional Police Headquarters to make the complaint against the randy school teacher early this month.  Even the Police Investigation Officer (IPO), Constable Oruame

Ekundayo was no less shocked having listened to Mr.Oritsejaro as he promptly mobilized his men to the school where the 39-year-old Akwa-Ibom teacher was rounded up.

Curiously, at the station where Mr. Inuanam confessed to the crime in writing, other police officers who watched with utter disgust were taken aback the more when the suspect confessed that he did not rape the girl as claimed by her father but that he had normal sexual intercourse with her with her full consent while she was reading in the library.  He admitted further that he used Vaseline to achieve full penetration.  “In addition to my former

statement, I stated as follows: In the afternoon of yesterday being 1-7-2009, around 3.30- 4.00pm, I was in the classroom  with other pupils for the lesson but I did not see Damilola so I went looking for her.  I later found her in the library reading a book.

It was then that I held her hands and she did not react and before you know it, I had sex with her.  She later left with me to the class to commence the lesson.  During the act, I applied vaseline to enable me have sex with her well.  She later went home.”

But contrary to claims by the randy teacher, father of the victim, Mr. Oritsejaro maintained that his daughter was raped.

According to him, he became curious after observing the way his little girl who had just returned from school was sitting.

He said when he demanded what was wrong with her, she burst into tears saying that her teacher raped her while reading in the library.  His words: ‘According to my daughter, when she came back from school that day, she started crying.

Then her mother asked why she was crying she said that the teacher raped her while she was reading in the library.  She said the teacher came to meet her, held her hands and forced her after using vaseline on her vagina and his penis.

She said she cried as a result of the  pains, but nobody came to her rescue.  So, immediately I took her to  the hospital because  the pain was too much for her to bear.

That was why I had to come to the police station to report the incident.    After examining her private part, we discovered that there was a tear and blood was rushing out of it”.

Corroborating Mr. Oritsejaro’s claims, Dr. Chukwuma Chiabuna of Lanke Maternity Clinic who examined the little girl maintained that upon examination, Miss Damilola Oritsejaro was raped.

“On examination, there was blood stains on her vagina as a result of a painful penetration.  She was greatly in pains and stressed as a result of which she was resuscitated with IV sedating analgetic and antibiotics.”

However, whether the rapist is guilty as charged will be determined by the court when hearing into the matter resumes on August 5, 2009.

Lagos State Police spokesman, SP Frank Mbah who confirmed the story said the case  is already in court.
