It is only in Nigeria that the loss of lives does not count or is seen as the death of fowl. Must our leaders wait for the bridges to collapse befor they do something?.

Fashola shouldnt bother wasting his time. Just like a commentator earlier posited, he should continue insisting on true federalism. Lagos State is rich enough to take care of her problems and even her sister states

It is rather sad that our leaders always blame the opposition for their ineffectiveness and lack of focus in act of governance, just as our governor is doing here. For 3 years now Akute -Ishasi- Denro- Ojodu Abiodun is in bad state, tax payer money has been spend injudiciously, lots of productive hours are wasted on this road on daily basis, is the opposition responsible for this inaction. The other day Alake of Egba, told the governor the truth about the status of Egba roads, the governor and his praise singers rained abuses the revered Oba, it now the turn of the assembly men, all because they had the audacity to ask the governor to provide status of the state indebtedness before approval is granted for further loan. Oga governor please put your house in other and stop blaming your inefficiency on others. On Oshodi - Apapa expressway, the FG should stop lamenting but should act urgently.

The state of disrepair and abandonment in which most of our roads and bridges raises concerns amongst citizens. If the Ministry of Works undertakes routine and periodic Inspection and Assessments and keep records/reports on their conditions for easy references purposes. The report proposed herein would contain dates of construction of our roads and bridges; their lengths; present state; warranty/lifespan, environment impacts on them; ongoing and pending maintenance carried out; company handling maintenance; and other pertinent information.

Such proactive practice, if adopted, would not only give governments at local, state and federal levels better overview on conditions of the roads and bridges, it would also put them at better state of planning in the aspect of appropriation for the construction, reconstruction and/or maintenance of them.

Besides, the appropriate ministry or commission in charge would, no doubt, be at advantage in prioritizing works pertaining to these roads and bridges.

I weep for Nigeria because,we are still in the era of bad governance. This oshodi -Apapa road has been there untouched for long and yet we say that, we have good leaders at the helm of affairs.
Yara dua please do something on that road so that commuters will say yes we have a government.

I have been reading every ones post for a while now and have come to conclusion that every Nigerian agreed that there is a serious problem in our country. Is not enough to say something is wrong without saying what is wrong about that. As we all have said the country has a big problem and has also notice what the problem is as Bad leadership. Is also not enough to only notice our problem as leadership without looking for the solution
The country has been like this since independent till now not because people has never find out what the problem is but because none has ever try to give the problem the real solution.

When ever some one is ill, he or she need to see a doctor to know what is wrong with the body .this is always the first steep. After doctor examination and find out what the problem is, it’s always the right of the ill person to treat the illness or go back only knowing what is wrong with the body.
Some can also go back trying to treat the illness without the right medicine but the illness will not leave them just because they were taken the wrong drugs.
Nigeria is now the sick body who has always seen doctor/doctors to find out what is wrong with the body.
Our past leaders had tried to treat the ill body but fail because they were treating it with wrong drugs.
After Independent our great fathers rose for war because of injustice but failed because they fought it with tribalism
Since then the nation has been in many silent war for injustice but still fighting it with ether religion or tribalism and instead of curing the illness has been infecting it with more disease .That even now to produce leaders or president is now no more for merit but which tribe must produce it that an Hausa person don’t care even if the candidate is an Arm robber will prefer him to an Igbo that is a scholar. So do Igbo man to accept even a rapist against a Yoruba noble man.
In doing so we have left the faith of the nation in the hands of those who is now taken everybody for granted as they have succeeded in reducing the whole masses to nothing but poverty that the only hope they have to live are now in the hands of the few criminals who are in the name of politics.
Election is on the way and already the have started spending their ill gotten money on the poor masses who has no one to defend them to buy them off. And we can’t blame them as the only person a dieing hungry person will remember is one who gave him a bowel of rice to quench his or her hunger with out thinking of what will become of him after that .even if he will be use for sacrifice after eating.

A lot has been written and a lot been read but now I want to ask we all of use that is wasting our time in every article been written. Are we ready for the price in rescuing our dear nation Nigeria from the hands of evil hold that has seized the nation for years?

IF we are willing is not time for us to be wasting time in complaining in every article been posted here but is time for us to put our difference aside , our religion aside and our tribalism aside and come together as one ,with once voice one faith for one nation.
If Lord Burden Paul west can use scout, How many are we against the few who calls themselves politicians that we can not overcome them and reshape our nation.?
I want to tell everyone of us that even the solders are not happy with the state of the nation nor the police people that we maybe worried about in taken steeps in the right part .are the happy when their salary and arias are not secured? Are they happy forcing masses to pay them N20 naira on the road under heavy sun and heavy rain just because salary not enough or not even paid ?
In the mist of all these I still believe we have some few Politicians we have hope on to start New Nigeria. We have Some like BUHARI, SOME ONE LIKE FASHOLA, SOME LIKE KEN NNAMANI.. We have some great lawyers from all tribes, we have great students that are afraid of their futures after studies. Putting all this human instrument together for rightful purpose. I don’t think any power can stop us for what ever we have in mind to do for the betterment of our nation.
But if we don’t act now for sure coming election is going to be like the past and who knows when this madness in leadership will end ,One day our coming generation will rise up to ask as questions that we will not have an answer.
I also want to remind us all that Yardua is falling us not because his a bad man in person but he is failing because of the hands that put him there. So no mater how good we may thing any person in the country is if we allow the hands we have been holding the nation ransom to force another leader on us what ever we are doing is waste off time in voting is waste of time.

Now is the time for us to rise up from our deep sleep as warriors who knows how best to fight and fight the good battle for the country we all love.

THIS ARE FEW THINGS I THINK WE SHOULD START DOING.

WE should find a tool of communication for open suggestions and Idea ,how to bring every one into the forum . of cause we have to be focus and only those who are of 18years and bellow 60years should be involve for the elders has failed us for long now.

Through every ones idea we can all agreed for at least 3 leaders we want coming next election 1 for president 2 for vice 3 for senate . then we can discus how to get everybody involve to posse our choice the old leaders as the nation belong to every body not for just a few. Is sound not like an easy task but the leaders are doing what ever they have been doing because none ever stand up for anything right and the politicians has known us for that but now is the time for change.
If it means the whole Nigerians flowing into Abuja months before election can pen with one voice and posters of whom the nation need without any political party sponsoring the leader we can do it.
If it means nobody going for any vote on the election date, we can do it. With all minds and heads put together from now till then I think the nation have a great hope for liberation .I know many are worried but maybe has been waiting for who will be the first or maybe don’t know how to start .
But now is the time those who have ideas and something to offer should come up. But please anything tribal, religion is not now but as for one hope one faith for one freedom of one nation Nigeria.
Longing for response

Longing for response

kai! Vanguand, what are you doing with picture of war criminals and economic terrorist on your shelf? Please, there are more bad roads in Ajegunle lagos to be shown. Kindly update are remove the human pic on this article. Pls no fear.
Ask me where has Yara Adua been presiding over that he just realized Oshodi-Apapa needs urgent attention- As popular as Oshodi and even Apapa is. Can you imagine that? May be he has been attending to fertilizer suppliers to Northern Lazy farmers whom Nigerians dont know what they produce in their farms. mallam aboki barawo

It means that the President has to physically see things by himself in order to grasp the gravity of the situation. And that's tragic. Why deligating responsibilites. The honorable minister of works should be ashamed to tell his boss where he has been to allow nigerian roads to have gotten to this. You can not see these type of roads in Benin republic or any other country surround us, even in those countries in Africa that depend in Western donations to run them.
This deplorable situation exists in all ministries and agencies. That's how rotten things are. Lamenting is not the right adjective.

Vintage Gbenga Daniel, blaming everyone else but himself. We understand all those innuendoes he was using. It won't work. Thank God he has acknowledged the indiscipline in their party. I think indiscipline is an understatement. The PDP is the most lawless and ideologically barren assemblage of people this continent has ever seen. They should leave the oppositiona alone and fix their problems. That party needs serious reform.
