AWKA—STAKEHOLDERS from Anambra North senatorial zone have described as totally unacceptable, unfair, inequitable and unjust, what they called the continued domination of political and elective offices by the other two zones of Anambra central and south, and vowed that the zone must produce the next Governor of the state.
In a communiqué at the end of their meeting at Awkuzu in Oyi Local Government Area, they regretted that although the zone was the largest and is the food basket of the state, it had continued to be marginalized in the scheme of things.
The communique reads, “the people of Anambra state are imbued with a great sense of equity, fairness and justice. We are content to live and let live and to take our claim without being desperate. Unfortunately, we have been misunderstood. It has led to our gross marginalization, such that our area has suffered gross underdevelopment compared to other parts of the state.
“In a country where the Igbos cry aloud against our marginalization in Nigeria, what justification do other zones in Anambra state have to marginalize their brothers and sisters of Anambra North? We say, enough is enough.
We assert our inevitable destiny to secure the office of Governor of Anambra state in 2010. Our people will no longer accept being perennially confined to the deputy governorships of the state. We are no mediocre. We are not second class citizens in Anambra state”, the group said.
the issue at hand in anambra state is not that of zone or a cetain people agitating for turn to governor rather it’s about who has the capability to deliver,gov peter obi should be voted for in the forthcoming election by the anambra north senatorial zone because he has touched that area more than any other part in the past 3 years despite the fact that he is not from that area,he has channelled a large chunk of the state resources to bettering the lot of that zone.
Clamouring for the Governorship candidate from your zone is not the Answer,will the person deliver the dividends of democracy? Ndi Anambra we must say NO to money politics this coming election…..

Elections are not won on the bases of senatorial zone or on concession. It is won on merit. You must present a credible and formidable candidate like Obi and Ngige before your voice could be heard. A word is enough for the wise.
