BENIN—MANAGING Director of Total Nigeria Plc., Mr. Dominic Thiolon, has warned Petroleum Tanker Drivers against over speeding, alcoholism and intake of dangerous drugs while driving.
Mr. Thiolon, who was represented yesterday by the General Manager, Heath Safety, Environment and Quality, Engr. Leke Awofeso, at the flag-off of this year’s Safety Awareness Campaign for petroleum taker drivers in Benin, enjoined the drivers to be safety conscious at all times, just as he told them to take the interest of other road users at heart while driving.
He assured them that Total Nigeria Plc was committed to safety on the roads at all times and called on them to join the organization to promote safety on roads to put an end to the carnage on the highways.
The Zone 5 Command of the Federal Road Safety Commission Sector Commander, Mr. Bibi Dwang, who was represented by Mr. Lawrence Ajibola, Head of Training, also advised the drivers on safety rules and driving codes on the highway.
He warned the drivers against night journeys and theft of petroleum products which, according to him, makes them prone to over speeding, just as he warned them to stay clear from the steering once they were on medications.
Highlights of the ceremony were the unveiling of the 2009 Safety Posters by the company.

I want to comment on the recent increase of AGO and LPFO .
The present adminstration has increased AGO and LPFO from 60.50 and 25.40 to 82 and 64 naira respectively . I want to assure you that with this kind of outrageous increase on this two high volume industrial used petroleum product, the government is determined to put its citizens out of job because a lot of company can not suvive it ,and the so called minister for petroleum should know that .
